Camryn Morris

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Camryn on Saturday, April 5th, 2025.  Moments after crossing the finish line of her first half-marathon, she collapsed into the arms of her friends from a sudden cardiac arrest.  She received immediate medical care; but despite their efforts, she passed quickly.  In her passing, she was able to selflessly provide life to others through organ and tissue donation.

Even at the young age of 19, Camryn had already revealed her true potential and character through her interactions with family, friends, and her community.  She became fluent in American Sign Language at a young age to communicate with her friends that have hearing impairments. At Southridge High School, she enjoyed playing tennis and was a captain of the varsity team for two years.  She worked hard to achieve her goal of being a Valedictorian for the Class of 2023.  She kept busy creating art for Camryn’s Canvas, and also enjoyed supporting other small businesses.  She loved to spread her art throughout the community whether it was with sidewalk chalk art, painting murals, or displaying her art at local restaurants.  You could often find her taking her friends and a camera on a hike up Badger Mountain or on a drive to Mount Rainier in her treasured Subaru.  Her love of travel inspired many family trips to national parks throughout the US and Canada.

Camryn quickly found a cherished home, and made many dear friends, when she moved to Corvallis to attend Oregon State University.  She spent her time hiking the local trails, attending concerts, cleaning up beaches, and serving as her dorm’s Eco-Representative.  In her second year at OSU, she proudly decorated her very first apartment that she shared with three of her close friends.  She established a tight-knit community of friends which linked people who wouldn’t normally have met and bonded, except that they shared a common friendship with Camryn.

Her kindness and love for others will always be remembered.

Camryn is survived by: her parents, Jeff and Michele Morris; brother, Kaden Morris; grandparents, Tom and Vicki Morris, and Kent and Cheryl Tucker; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.  Camryn is also survived by countless friends in the Tri-Cities and Corvallis.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Camryn at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 19 at:

South Hills Church

3700 W 27th Ave

Kennewick, WA  99337

We encourage people to bring flowers to her Celebration of Life gathering since she had such a love of flowers of every type and color.

Our family would like to thank all of Camryn’s friends for continuing to share stories of their favorite moments with her.  It keeps her spirit alive and reminds us what a special person she was and always will be.

Two GoFundMe accounts have been set up for those who wish to donate to support causes that were important to Camryn.  One is for the Heartland Humane Shelter and Care, where she spent many hours walking dogs and petting the animals.  The other is for placing a memorial bench in the OSU Research Forests which she loved to hike and explore.  Visit gofundme.com and search for “Remembering Camryn Morris” or use the links below.

  • Dear Morris family,
I began working with Camryn in Jan 2025 when she was awarded an Undergraduate Researcher Support Award at OSU. I can’t say enough what a joy that Camryn was to work with in my brief time with her. She was so smart, kind, talented, and motivated. Camryn reach out to me because she wanted to learn how to create models and make maps using GIS software. She was really excited about applying her knowledge and skills to work on environmental projects, and it was clear that she was very passionate about nature. I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget her amazing spirit.

  • I’m so saddened to hear of Camryn’s passing. Although I didn’t know her well I am so grateful our paths crossed. She created a digital drawing of one of my favorite travel photos that hangs in my living room and I cherish so much. I also have several other pieces of her art. She was such a kind soul and radiated a bright light. I’m sending love to all that knew her.

  • Our prayers are with you in this sad time of Camryn passing. Camryn was such a wonderful person, and she had such a gift of life and art and kindness. I remember Camryn when she was at Lincoln and how her and her good friend Kate would be laughing and talking in the hall while signing to each other. That made my heart happy knowing that they shared that bond. The world will be a little sadder without her, but I know that her spirit will carry on in all that she touched and the people she knew. Fly high Camryn and may your loved ones know that you will be watching over them from heaven above.

  • My deepest condolences to Camryn’s family. I got to meet Camryn when our girls picked each other as roommates for their freshman year at OSU. I will always treasure the extreme thoughtfulness Camryn showed when I asked her to help me decorate for Sofias bday. She went way up and above and even had a cake. I also loved seeing her beautiful photos of her adventures. Sending prayer for strength.

  • Camryn was always full of zeal and had the most generous heart. I loved being her teammate and friend for so many years. She had so many talents from painting to baking to calligraphy but one of her greatest gifts was her ability to love and serve the ones around her. It was such a privilege to know her. To the Morris family, my thoughts and prayers are with you through this unfathomable loss. Thank you for bringing up such a light to this world. She is so greatly missed!
