Robert Burnett

Robert Anthony Burnett, born on December 27, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at his home in Benton City, Washington.

A devoted husband and father, Robert is survived by his seven children: Robin Cazier, Elise Andrews, Serena Baugh, Brian Burnett, Temple Latimer, Merrily Johnson, and Aaron Burnett. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren, instilling in them a love for the outdoors. Robert enjoyed various activities, including playing tennis, hiking, camping, fishing, and riding his bicycle. He was passionate about bird watching and stargazing and enjoyed growing a vegetable garden. Robert taught his children how to play basketball, baseball, football, and ultimate frisbee, creating countless memorable moments together.

Robert dedicated his professional life to the field of information systems engineering, contributing significantly to Battelle / Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Robert earned his Bachelor’s Degree and applied his knowledge and expertise in service to his community and workplace.

Robert was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he faithfully served in various callings and filled a service mission. His legacy of love and devotion to family, faith, and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A Graveside Service and interment will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Gardens – Featherstone Block III, located at 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, Washington.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Paradise Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Robert was preceded in death by Martha Jane Burnett, his wife of 58 years.
