Marjorie (Margie) Helene Anderson Worcester

December 18, 1939 – March 9, 2025

Marjorie (Margie) Helene Anderson was born on December 18th, 1939 in Milton-Freewater, Oregon to her parents Gordon & Claire Anderson.

After an extended illness, Margie went to her heavenly home on March 9th, 2025, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA, having lived 85 years.

Margie’s family lived in Milton-Freewater until Margie turned one and then moved to Kennewick, eventually settling in Pasco when she was three. Margie attended kindergarten at Longfellow Elementary School and continued attending Pasco schools through the 11th grade.

Margie met her future husband, Clinton (Clint) Worcester, at a church outing, and they were married in 1957. Shortly after, they moved to Pullman for two years. They returned to Richland, where they lived for 23 years before moving to the Rancho Reata area of Benton County. After 56 years of marriage and Clint’s passing, Margie moved to the Southridge area of Kennewick, where she lived in the Creekstone neighborhood until her passing. To this marriage, they were blessed with four children: Robert (Rob), Laurie, Paula, and Mark.

Margie worked for several companies during her career: Culligan Water, ITT Richland, Exxon Nuclear Company, Advanced Nuclear Fuels, Siemens Nuclear Power Corporation, and Siemens Power Corporation – Nuclear division, from which she retired in 1997. Margie often mentioned that as operational contracts expired and renewed, she sat in the same chair, at the same desk, doing the same tasks, and the only thing that changed was the name on the stationary. Margie made a lot of friends throughout her career, and they enjoyed getting together for lunch & catching up in retirement.

Margie was a lifelong member of E.L.C.A. Lutheran Churches in the Tri-Cities enjoying membership at First Lutheran Church of Pasco, WA, Richland Lutheran Church of Richland, WA, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Richland, WA, and Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Kennewick, WA where she made a lot of wonderful friendships with whom she enjoyed visiting and traveling.

Margie is survived by her children; two sons Robert E. Worcester & wife Kimberly of Kennewick, WA and Mark E. Worcester of Kennewick, WA and a daughter Paula A. Butler & husband Kevin of Federal Way, WA, also four grandsons; Trevor J. Worcester, Trenton M. Worcester, Garrett W. Butler and Royce E. Butler; three great granddaughters Haven Worcester, Gracelyn Worcester, and Lucy Butler; her sister Linda Hiskey, her sister-in-law Mary Anderson and several nieces & nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband Clinton (Clint) E. Worcester, her daughter Laurie L. Worcester, her parents Gordon S. & Claire E. (Sanberg) Anderson, her stepfather Phillip C. Hansen, her father-in-law and mother-in-law James E. & Anna M. Worcester, her sister-in-law Judith “Judy” A. (Worcester) Kolts, her brother-in-law Ronald “Ron” D. Hiskey and her brother Adrian O. Anderson.

The family would like to thank all of the family & friends who expressed their love and support and the 8th-floor nursing staff & doctors at Kadlec Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care.

Instead of flowers, donations may be given in Margie’s memory to Lord of Life Lutheran Church Kennewick and the Kadlec Tri-Cities Cancer Center Kennewick.

Margie wishes for it to be made known, “To each and every one of you, you are all precious to me”.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, March 20th, beginning at 5:00 PM at the Einan’s at Sunset Funeral Home Activity Center located at 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, WA 99352.

A Celebration of Life service will be on Friday, March 21st, at 11:00 AM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 640 N Columbia Center Blvd 99336

  • Margie was such an example of a woman that loved the Lord and her family. She was a very wise woman and she gave the best hugs. She and Clint were always willing to help and support when needed. We will sure miss her as we do Clint. All our love to the family.

  • Dear Margie, you were such a dear, kind, loving person. I am so sorry to hear you had to endure cancer and I hope it was not as painful as what your beloved husband experienced.
Margie and I met at Lord of Life. We camped together with Lord of Life group after Jim, my husband, died from cancer. We visited a lot during Clint’s illness. We had that in common. It was a bond. In 2016 I moved to the west side to be closer to my family. I did not know Margie was ill.
. May God welcome you with open arms. RIP,
    With love,
