Diana Marie Grant

Diana Marie Evans was born in Butte, Montana on March 7, 1951, to David “Larry” and Mona Evans. She was welcomed by her two loving brothers. She welcomed four more siblings after her. She was the eldest daughter, often taking on the responsibility of her brothers and sisters. She graduated from Grant High School in 1969.

Diana went on to study dental hygiene while working retail and modeling part time. This was where she met her husband-to-be, Patrick Grant. They were married in 1975 in Portland Oregon. They welcomed their first child in 1977, Kendra. Later Juliana in 1981, then Cameron in 1985. Pat and Diana raised the kids in the Portland area.

Diana cared for her children full time. Cameron was a medically fragile infant that she had great joy in nurturing him into reaching milestones in life. She took great pride in all of her kids. Her loving and selfless personality led her into becoming a nursing assistant where she cared tirelessly for hospice patients and seniors with care needs.

Diana loved family time, sunsets, reading, crafts, gardening, sewing and many more things, too many to count. It’s likely she read each Clive Cussler book a hundred times. She was always up for a great bowl of French onion soup, a good clam chowder, oysters on the half-shell, always paired with a huge glass of 2% milk. She enjoyed the Beatles and the Culture Club, where you could find her singing and dancing along.

She leaves behind her three kids Kendra Grant of Tillamook OR, Julie (Skylar) Spainhower of Provo, Utah, and Cameron Grant of the Olympia area of Washington. She had five beautiful and loving grandchildren, Jon, Danielle, Leah, Aurora and Jonah who will miss her greatly. Diana always said she wished she could have had grandkids first because they were so much fun. She leaves behind her mother Mona Evans, brother Steve (Suzi) Evans, sisters Leslie McDonald, Kim (David) Lowe, and Linda Adcox. Diana had dozens of nieces and nephews who knew her heart.

Diana was preceded in death by her father David “Larry” Evans, brothers Jim and Andy, nephew Ammon and her beloved son-in-law Jonathan Fanning (Kendra).

Every time we see a beautiful sunset, spring flowers, especially tulips, or hear your songs, we will always think of you. We see you dancing and singing along to the happiest parts of your life. We will see you again, without pain, sickness or death.
