Linda Sue (Stafford) Norwood – August 18, 1941 – January 12, 2024.
Linda Sue Norwood, 82, died January 12, 2024 after a brief illness. Linda was born August 18, 1941, to A. M. “Jack” Stafford and Thelma Louise Stafford in Kansas City, Missouri.
She grew up in Richland, WA and graduated from Columbia High School in 1959. She met the love of her life, Darrel Norwood in their senior year of high school. Darrell felt it was important to wait until he came of age, and Linda believed in respecting his wishes.
He turned 21 the Saturday before they got married on June 30, 1961. They were married for 62 years and raised 2 children, daughter Katrina and son Khris.
Linda was actively involved with the Richland Baptist Church for years. She started cooking meals in the kitchen for different church functions. Her hobbies were quilting and knitting. She knitted hats every year for a group that gave them to needy children. She made all of her 5 grandchildren their own quilt.
Linda Sue is preceded in death by her parents A.M. “Jack” and Thelma Stafford; her daughter Katrina Swanson; and sister Sandra Lepinski.
She is survived by her husband, Darrel, of 62 years; son Khris and daughter in-law Shelby; son in-law Richard Swanson; and grandchildren Brandon, Max, Tyler, Colten, and Tawny.
