Mary Etta Goodnight
Mary Etta Goodnight, age 92, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 in Kennewick, WA. Mary was born on June 25, 1930 to Harley and Sidney (Canada) Johnson in Fullerton, CA.
Mary grew up in Missouri, and moved to Finley, WA in 1953 with her late husband Webster L. Goodnight, who worked for Philips Chemical plant for over 30 years. In her younger years, Mary was active in bowling leagues, loved watching Soap Operas and also enjoyed painting. She was an avid Rockhound and passed this love onto many of her grandchildren.
Mary raised seven children, Rosetta, Steve, Charles, Joe, Beverly, Charlotte and Teresa. She was an amazing cook, who made delicious meals for all her children and always made sure to pack them lunches for school each day. Mary enjoyed being a mom, but she adored being a grandmother and great-grandmother to all her grandchildren. She gave her heart and soul to help individuals, no matter the cost to herself. She was a Christian lady and believed everything will work out for the best, just listen to yourself and God.

Prayers, thoughts and love to all the family. Hold on tight to each other and the Lord!
So very sorry for your family’s loss. She was a sweet lady.
Dear Cousins,
I am very saddened to receive notice of your Mom’s passing !
As a little boy, I can remember my family traveling to Washington to visit you all !
Your folks, my Uncle Webster and Aunt Mary. always welcomed us with open arms — and cooked up a storm of food every night during our visits — and considering our 15 members — that was a LOT of food — we were a real houseful ! I also remember a great solo visit in my late teens — your folks always loved us without any reservations !
My Dad (Denzil), enjoyed many visits with your family over his years –and loved his many hunting trips with your Dad — and was deeply saddened at Webster’s passing so many years ago — losing his wonderful brother and best friend ! While, I know you are all terribly saddened to lose your wonderful Mom, grandma and great grandma — she left everyone a great example of how to live life to it’s fullest — her good memories will last us a lifetime !!
Deepest Sympathies,
Michael & Elaine Goodnight & Family
