Emile Fillion
Emile Joseph Fillion, 82, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on June 29th, 2021. Emile was born in Lyster Quebec Canada on July 13, 1938, to Edouard Fillion and Lucienne Dubois.
Emile learned to be a welder in Sherbrooke Canada. In 1961 he started his career in welding in Lauzon Canada at the shipyard.
In his spare time, he loved to dance, which is where he met the love of his life Aline. They were married in 1961 in Quebec, where they started their family and were blessed with 2 boys.
In 1969 the shipyard closed, and Emile decided to look for work in the U.S. This brought the family to Ohio working in construction and welding. Emile’s work meant traveling to many places around the US. While in Michigan, they welcomed their daughter. In 1975 Richland Washington became the family’s home. In 1984 Emile studied hard and was very proud to become a citizen of the United States.
Emile loved welding and construction, it took him all over the U.S. and Canada. He worked for many companies at the Hanford Reservation and joined the Brotherhood of the Local 598 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union.
Emile retired in 2003, fighting and winning a battle against throat cancer. Retirement gave Emile and Aline time to travel and enjoy life. Emile was truly his happiest when he was tinkering in his garage or working in his garden.
June 29, 2013, Emile and Aline lost their son Eric to cancer, 8 years to the day preceding Emile’s death.
Emile is survived by his wife of 60 years Aline Fillion. Their children include Yvan and wife Ann, Eric and wife Nancy, and Carolyn and husband Garrett Venters. Grandchildren include Corey, Caitlin, Kayla and husband Adam Jones, Travis, Antoine, Jérémie, Sydney, Chance, Caden and Grady. Emile’s siblings, include Rosaire and Thérèse Beaulieu, Alice and Robert Paquet, Denise and Réal Carrier, Lucien Fillion, Sr. Aline Fillion, Cécile and Guy Goudreau, Jeannette and Marcel Carrier, Céline and Florent Fillion, Omer Fillion, Rolande and Henri Fillion, Wilfrid Fillion, Marie-Claire and Jean-Georges, Alcide Fillion, Irène and René Fillion, Lucille and Jean Fillion. Many of his siblings have passed. There are many in-laws on his wife Aline’s side, still residing in Quebec.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people from Critical Nurse Staffing and Chaplaincy Hospice. They made this journey a lot easier to travel.
Services will be held Friday July 16, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church at 2 pm. Graveside service and reception to follow at Sunset Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Tri-City Cancer Center in Emile’s name.
I am blessed that I could be at the funeral from so far away !
Love you guys so much !
Sending so much love and prayers to you all! I wish I could be there in person but please know that I am there in spirit. May God Bless you all to help ease your pain at this difficult time.

Dear Aline and the Fillion family,
Please know that to have known Emile was a pleasure. He has made a real difference in the world. Emile made a family with Aline and his children that has grown into grandchildren, that are an incredible example of the loving, caring, extraordinarily man he’s been to all.
My prayers are with you.
Love, Mary Ann &Jim
