Karen Edith Butler, age 63 of Richland, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, February 5th, 2018.

Karen was a long time resident of Richland. She was born in Pasco on April 1st, 1954. She attended Christ The King as a child and graduated from Richland High School in 1973. She worked for Energy Northwest and Bechtel at the Hanford site for most of her adult life.

Karen’s passion was her children and grandchildren. She loved to watch her children play sports, later in life she enjoyed travelling, spending time with her friends and spoiling her grandchildren. 

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Dorothy Lyness. She is survived by her son Justin Love and his wife Shannon; son Timothy Butler; grandchildren Chase, Dash and Henri; brothers Jerry Lyness and Tom Lyness; and sisters Susan Lyness and Rebecca Barwick.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday February 10^th at Events at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland.

In lieu of flowers Karen requested a donation be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
