Rebecca “Becky” Keck
Becky L. Keck
1956-2018
Becky was born July 13, 1956 in Idaho Falls,
Idaho to Don and Jean Hausauer. She was
the middle of five girls. Her father, Don, was a career Naval Officer and her
family moved to different naval bases across the US. After graduating high
school, she worked at the Hanford site and later owned and operated her own
local pizza business. At the age of 41,
Becky graduated with honors from WSU Tri-Cities with her bachelor’s degree in
Psychology and Criminal Justice. Becky really enjoyed her job at the Juvenile
Justice Center working with families of at risk youth. She worked there for 14 years until she
retired in 2011. After retirement, she
became a volunteer with Richland Police Department’s VIPS program.
Becky enjoyed being a wife to Roy, a mother to her girls, and was so very proud of being a grandma. She loved boating, bowling, traveling and being with family and close friends. Becky was very strong and a cancer survivor. She spent her last 17 years heroically fighting cancer’s devastating effects, never letting them get her down. On January 4, 2018, in the early morning, Becky passed with her family surrounding her with love.
Becky is survived by her husband Roy, sisters Janice (Joe) Lloyd, Peg (Alex Simpson) Hausauer, Pat (Dave) Hausauer, daughters Kirsten (Pedro) Yniguez, Stacey (Robert) Haun, Stepson Jeff (Angelia) Keck, granddaughters Emma, Samantha, Quinn and Ashlee, grandsons Austin, Tristan and Samuel, and mother in-law Lida Keck.
She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Jean Hausauer, sister Barbara (Tommy) Grant, niece Jenny Lloyd, sister in-law Gus Keck and father in-law Jim Keck.
A Celebration of Becky’s Life will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Richland Yacht Club 350 Columbia Point Drive, Richland, WA. Please come in your favorite beach attire. Leis, dinner (and of course dessert), will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Becky’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
