Joyce Audrey Mae Worrell Rust

Joyce Audrey Mae Worrell Rust, 86, found her way into the arms of her God and Savior on
September 21, 2017. Joyce was born in Roberts, WI to Minnie and Harold Worrell on July 10,
1931. She was the seventh of ten children.

Joyce spent most of her childhood in Hudson, WI where she came to know the Lord as her
personal savior at First Baptist church, graduated from high school in 1949 and married Private
First Class Robert Rust Sr. They never resolved their conflicting versions of who tripped who on
the roller rink that first night which began their love story.
Robert and Joyce started their marriage stationed in San Antonio, TX. After leaving the Air
Force they lived in Hudson, WI, Missoula, MT and the last 42 years in the Tri-Cities raising their
wonderful family of four.

Joyce worked several jobs; retiring from Westinghouse in 1991. She would say her main career
was at home, taking care of her family. As a couple, Robert and Joyce, were heavily involved in
their church, spending the last 39 years as members of Temple Baptist in Richland, WA. When
Joyce wasn't pouring into her family she ministered to many as a Sunday school teacher, youth
group sponsor, nursery volunteer, church greeter and as a member in the Women’s Ministry.
She was a little lady that filled a large church with her love, kindness and outreach.
Joyce loved to cook, bake and entertain. Her family and friends loved her spirit and she earned
many nicknames including Big Mama, Ornery May and, Robert’s favorite, Sweet Pea.
Everyone that met Joyce loved her because she loved them. She will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert Rust Sr; her children Glenna (Larry)
Grames, Robert (Traci) Rust Jr, Dayna (Craig) Lanphear and Jana (Tim) Phillips; her 9
grandchildren Andrew (Ashley) Grames, Kellie (Steve) McCoy, Jeremy (Catriona) Rust, Sarah
(Mike) Otten, Daniel Dewitt, Kara Dewitt, Ashley (Zach) McCreary, Jesse (Leslie) Lanphear and
Lindsey (Scott) Hippe; 6 great grandchildren; brother Virgil Worrell and multiple nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Viola, Virginia, Sabina, Maxine and Harriet
and brothers Richard, Gaylord and Jerry.

A viewing will be held at Einan’s Funeral Home on September 26, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM. The
