Orlando “Bud” Kroll
Orlando Kroll was called home by
his Heavenly Father on February 25, 2017. Bud was born on May 16, 1923 in Black
Duck Minnesota. He was a devoted servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Chris and
an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for more than 65 years. Bud was a
true evangelist for Christ spending much of his retirement spreading the gospel
on all the pathways of his life.
Bud married Betty Taylor in August of 1948 and were blessed with 57 years of marriage until her death in 2005.
He was employed at the Hanford Site for 38 years helping to pioneer the profession of health physics. Bud worked as a monitor, health physics technician and ultimately was promoted to an area supervisor. He ended his career with his passion; teaching and training employees in the field of health physics.
Bud spent the winter months of
his retirement in Yuma Arizona, where he had a group of friends and a church
family that brought him much joy.
He was one of seven children born
to Albert and Amelia Kroll all who have preceded him in death. His son Lanny
also preceded him in death. Bud is survived by daughter and son-in-law Millie
and Steve Hill of Coolin, Idaho; son Dan Kroll; son and daughter-in-law Malcolm
and Bev Kroll; son and daughter-in-law Ben and Gail Kroll, all of Richland. He
had 8 grandchildren: Amy Harshman and husband Doug of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jason
Hill of San Diego; Andy Hill of Spokane; Jared Kroll, Bryce Kroll and wife
Jessica, Grant Kroll, Kaylee Kroll, and Taylor Kroll, all of Richland. He also
had 3 great-grandchildren, Jonah and Hope Harshman, and Trayton Hill.
There will be a memorial service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 520 Thayer Drive in Richland at 11am on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Lutheran Hour Ministries at lhm.org, or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
