Jose “Joey” Angel Gonzalez
Jose “Joey” Angel Gonzalez was born in Sunnyside, WA on March 13, 1975. He was
a loving son of Joe and Delia (Saenz) Gonzalez. Joey passed away of natural
causes on July 5, 2015 in Richland, WA.
Joey graduated from Grandview High School in 1994 and
afterwards went to work with his dad at American Electric Inc.
He enjoyed his family, his friends and everyone he came in
contact with. He made friends easily and always remembered who you were, even
if he only met you once. Despite his medical challenges Joey had a "heart
of gold" and a smile that lit up the room.
Joey enjoyed driving his Toyota 4 Runner, taking meticulous care of it by
washing and cleaning it twice a week. He also enjoyed listening to music of all
genres.
He had a special relationship with his niece, Kaylani Jasso,
who he loved dearly. Kaylani looked after him when he was ill and lifted his
spirits when he was down. Her special name for him was "Homie".
He is survived by his parents, Joe and Delia (Saenz)
Gonzalez; his paternal grandparents: Jose and Maria Gonzalez. Joey left behind
numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins who he loved dearly.
Joey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents:
Gilberto and Dominga Saenz; aunt, Mary Saenz; uncle, Salvador Rocha; and uncle,
Felix Gonzalez.
Viewing will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from
6:30pm - 8:30pm at Events at Sunset in Richland, WA. A Funeral Service
will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00am at
Bethel Church in Prosser, WA, with burial immediately following at Mabton
Cemetery in Mabton, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be may made to Seattle Children's Hospital.

You are already missed so much. Thank you for all of the fun, laughs, and beautiful memories that you have blessed our family with. Good cologne just won’t smell the same anymore… I love you, my dear cousin. May you rest in peace. ❤️

Joe, your mom and dad, David, Ana and I were having Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner on Friday, and there were two big booms of thunder. I knew right away that it was Jose Angel talking to us. He told us the everyone should say a prayer for him, but emphasized that we were not to be sad.
Jose Angel was very special to all of us. We will miss him and never forget him.

I am so sorry for your loss. I ran into Joey multiple times after I lost my son Luke and he was such a kind soul and I talked to him a lot about it. He always had a smile on his face and so kind. I know that there is really nothing I can say or do for you right now in your journey of grief. I can only know the pain of what it is to lose a child. My thoughts and prayers are with both of you and your family.

It was always a joy to walk into American Electric and be greeted by Joey’s enormous smile. He could be busy at his desk but he would find the time to say hello and shake my hand on every visit. I will miss his friendly greetings that put sunshine on my day. God bless!

Joey was always the guy you could count on to give you that big smile no matter how bad things were. He will be truly missed by everyone, but will be in our memories forever.

It still doesn’t feel real, sometimes I like to think that you’re just downstairs in your bear cave. The way I feel is impossible to put into words, my heart hurts and feels empty, being at the house feels weird because you’re missing. Nothings going to be the same without you brother bear; heart of gold and ALWAYS life of the party. But I know you’re in heaven smiling down on all of us with Gramma and Tia Mina. I loveeee you soooo muchh and will be missing you foreverrr! I also hope you’re still ready for my 21 run because I know you would never miss that no matter how far away you may be!
I am thankful for the lifelong friendship I had with Joey. It didn’t matter how much time passed between visits. We always picked right back up. He had his own classy style and was always the life of a party. I will miss him. God Bless your lovely family.

When I first started dating your Uncle Tony, you were just a little boy of 5 or 6 and my first impression was that you were such a sweet little boy with a huge grin. Well, the sweet little boy grew into a sweet man with an even bigger smile and twinkling eyes and a sweet-smelling neck that this old aunt appreciated every time I hugged you. I have many wonderful memories of you from boy to teenager to man, but my most favorite are always centered around the table at Buela’s house with you, your dad and Tony laughing hilariously, tears running down your faces, usually at your Uncle Tony’s expense. 😁 I appreciate the gracious way you always handled those challenges that life threw at you, with the same smile you blessed everyone with.
