Nancy Doris (Dana) Foreman

Nancy, 57, of Richland, WA, passed away November 18th 2014, after a long illness surrounded by her loving and devoted family and friends at Virginia Mason Hospital, Seattle, WA. She is preceded in death by her father, George W. Dana and her brother George Jr. and John A. Goodhope (brother-in-law).

Nancy was born in Klamath Falls, OR., October 19th 1957. After several moves her family finally settled in Richland, WA in 1963. She was a graduate of Columbia High School (class of 1976), Richland WA. and later attended Columbia Basin Community College, Pasco, WA., studying to be a nurse. At that time she was working at Kadlec Medical Center in the Central Supply Unit.

In March of 1981 Nancy made the decision to start working at the Hanford Site, as a Nuclear Process Operator.  On her first day of work she met (and later married) her husband, Bob.  They started training and working together as good friends, but soon realized it was meant to be much more.  They were married the following year in March of 1982.  Nancy's first five years were spent with Rockwell at the 234-5 Z Plant (PFP), until she took time off work when our son, Nathaniel was born in 1986.  Nancy remained off work until the fall of 1990, when she returned to her former position at PFP.  In 1992 she took a short term break from work when our daughter, Natalie was born.  Nancy later took a position at the Tank Farms where she worked a variety of shifts and assignment until her declining health conditions worsened during these past few years.

Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends.  Her quick wit made every gathering fun and filled with laughter.  She always made you smile and feel good about yourself.  Her greatest joy in recent years has been spending time with grandsons, Cameron and Breydon (Foreman). They were Bob and Nancy's  pride and joy. They relished every minute they spent with them.  Her very generous heart and love for animals led to the rescue of numerous cats who she provided a caring home for. Nancy had a natural talent for creating the most beautiful porcelain dolls. They are treasured by all who were fortunate to receive them.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, son, Nathaniel Foreman ( Sarah), daughter, Natalie Hoefer, (Josh), Mother, Doris P. Dana, siblings Julia Dana Goodhope, both from Richland, WA , Carol Ghaffari (Joe) and Bob Dana, (Amanda) both from Vancouver, WA. , 2 grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

The rosary will be held at Einan's at Sunset Chapel, 915 By Pass Highway, Richland, WA. at 7:00 pm. on Friday, April 10th.  A Christian Memorial Mass service honoring Nancy’s precious life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Stevens Drive, Richland, WA.  Immediately following the mass there will be a reception at the church.  Her inurnment will be at 2:00 pm. at Sunset Gardens, 915 By Pass Highway, Richland, WA.  Following the inurnment all friends and family are invited to the celebration to remember Nancy!  This will be at the Knights of Columbus (2500 Chester Street, Richland, WA.) 3:00 – 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

  • Nancy was a very kind and nurturing soul – I feel privileged to have known (and believe to be her friend). I am saddened, that I hadn’t stayed in as close of touch as I should have.
I am/was deeply saddened to have learned of her passing. My thoughts and prayers go to her family. I will miss her.
