Mary Ellen Hibscher
Mary Ellen Hibscher passed away peacefully on March 17, 2015 at Sweet Meadows Adult Family Home.
Mary was born on May 17, 1926 in Silesia, Montana. Born to William Jonathan and Mary May McMillen, she was the youngest of 10 children.
She met George Hibscher and was married in 1948. On January 19, 1950, they welcomed their only daughter, Marjorie May Carol into the world.
For 17 years, they called a 1952 Spartanette home as they traveled to several work locations throughout Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Washington and the Dakotas.
Mary and George finally homesteaded in Richland in 1962. They bought a home in 1967 to create new memories. In 1968, their daughter graduated from Columbia High. A few years later, she married and had a son in 1971. Marjorie tragically passed away in July of 1972. Upon her passing, Mary and George opened their home and hearts to their grandson, Charles, whom they later legally adopted.
Mary was a caring homemaker and faithful housewife. She had a passion for sewing. It was evident by her many magazine subscriptions to sewing and quilting. She spent many a day down at the fabric stores when they were having good sales.
Mary was preceded in death by daughter, Marjorie May Carol Kurth, husband, George, mother, Mary May, father, William Jonathan, brothers Mark, George, William, Ira, Victor and Leonard and sisters, Ethel May, Edith and Edna.
Mary is survived by her son, Charles and spouse, Amy, grandsons Luke & Matthew and many nieces and nephews spanning across the country.
