Buddy Dean Vetter, 77, of Richland, passed away peacefully in his home on January 1st 2015.
He was born in Ballard to Harry and Frances Vetter on March 2, 1937. He graduated in 1955 from West Seattle High School and started his apprenticeship in Patternmaking. In 1957 he enlisted in the Army where he served our country for 2 years. Three years later, in 1963, he completed his apprenticeship as a Patternmaker. After many jobs, and owning his own business, he finished his career with Boeing and retired in 1999 as a Patternmaker.
Buddy married Donna in 1969. He was preceded by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife Donna, their four children, Cory, Doug, Mindy, and Jonathan, as well as 4 grandchildren, Zack, Travis, Dawson, and Mackenzie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.
He enjoyed boating, sports, and animals. His greatest passion of all was working with wood. As a master craftsman, he built propellers, hydroplanes, his personal boat, furniture, and houses. He was the rock of his family and always supported his kids though all of their life’s challenges. He was, and always will be a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held January 11th, at 3:00pm at Events at Sunset with a viewing starting at 2:30pm. A gathering will be held after the ceremony to celebrate his life.
Very shocked to hear about Buddy’s passing and want to send my sympathy to all the family and friends.
We are grateful for our long friendship with Bud and will miss him more than we can say.
Dear Donna and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your dear Bud’s death. I did not hear about it until I saw a notice about it in the Hope Lutheran Notes and News. It was too late to attend his funeral.
Bud was always a good husband and good father. You will really miss him, I am sure. I hear that he had cancer. What a loss to your whole family this is!
I am living at a retirement center in Tacoma.
I love you, Donna
PS Joan is sorry too. I called her right away when I found out about Bud’s death.
Love, Rita Michelotti
