Peggy passed away on December 10th after waging a determined and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Her family admired the dignity and resolve she displayed while dealing with her illness.  She was born to Ross and Margaret Williams on July 18, 1943 in Shelton, Washington.  She attended Grade School in Parkdale, Enterprise and Baker all in Oregon; and the first two years of high school in Baker before moving to Portland, Oregon and graduating from David Douglas High School in 1961.  She attended and graduated from Oregon State University in 1965 with a B. S. in Business Administration.

Peggy moved to the Tri-Cities soon after Graduating from College and became a long time employee of Battelle Corporation.  She was Director of Facilities and Operations and retired in 2004.  Her dedication and leadership earned her the trust and respect of those she worked with.

  • Don enjoyed working with Peggy at Battelle and Carolyn enjoyed golfing with her. She was always upbeat…especially in our inaugural “Solheim Cup” competition. She was the chief cheer leader for the red team and will always be a part of our efforts.

  • Peggy hired my husband away from Kaiser to come work at Battelle for her 27 years ago! He has had a great career there ever since and I always attribute that to Peggy. She was an amazing boss. I have always said she was a bosses boss. She was a wonderful mentor for him and through the years he has tried to manage people much like she did.

  • My memories, and those of my wife and children’s, are of a wonderful, colorful, and beautiful woman who gave of her self at every opportunity. She was tough, strong, purposeful, and confident. My sons would sit taller and speak respectfully when we were with Peggy – she always brought out the very best in us. As my client, at my Pilates studio, Peggy was an inspiration as she worked though challenges and strove to achieve her personal goals. We will miss her deeply… Our lives were enriched by her presence and we will endeavor to retain her memory always.

  • I was a longtime employee at Battelle in Peggy’s Directorate.
My wife, Julie, and I appreciated the support she gave us during the time our oldest son was being treated for cancer in Seattle and following thereafter. He did not survive.
