Kathleen June Tomsick
Kathleen June Tomsick (Zenner) passed away peacefully Saturday, November 29, 2014 after a 20-year battle with cancer. She was born in Colfax, WA on June 15, 1949 to Al and Kay Zenner. Kathy graduated from Genesee High School and then attended Gonzaga University to study accounting. It was at college that she met her husband of 43-years, Frank Tomsick. They both graduated in May of 1971 and then married in June of that same year. While Frank attended graduate school, Kathy worked as a CPA at her professor’s public accounting firm in Spokane, WA.
Kathy and Frank lived for a short while in Salt Lake City, UT, where their daughter, Heather, was born in 1975. In 1977, the family moved to the Tri-Cities, and this area became home. Kathy loved to play and watch Heather play sports, especially tennis and soccer. She also greatly enjoyed weekend and even some mid-week outings on their boat on the Snake and Columbia Rivers. Later in life, she learned to play golf, and she and Frank joined Meadow Springs Country Club. She played in the 18-hole Ladies group and enjoyed countless rounds of golf, meals, and happy hours with wonderful friends.
After years as a stay-at-home Mom, Kathy went back to work 15 years ago as a CPA at Clifton Larsen Allen in Kennewick. At CLA, she provided accounting and tax services to small-business and individual clients. She appreciated the flexible work schedule CLA provided her.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Kay Zenner, and twin siblings, John and Jill Zenner. She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Heather; brother, Russ Zenner (Kathy); brother, Dan Zenner; nieces: Chandra Zenner Ford (Jim), Jenny Zenner (John Patton), Gabby Zenner Moran (Nick), and Giselle Zenner; nephews: Chris Zenner (Janine) and Jempy Zenner (Gina); and grand-nephews: Jack and Andy Ford, Zac, Nicklaus, and Wade Zenner; and Fauss and Harris Patton. She treasured every gathering with family and especially appreciated the visits shortly before her passing.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Stevens Dr., Richland, WA 99354.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Chaplaincy Hospice, 2108 W. Entiat Ave., Kennewick, WA 99336 or Sisters of the Holy Names, 2911 W. Fort George Wright Dr., Spokane, WA 99224

I had the pleasure of working with Kathy. She helped me many times in cleaning up our accounting and teaching me tricks. She was a fun, bright, and beautiful person. May God bless her and hold her.
