Carlos Paz Solorzano

03/25/1967 — 10/22/2014

From Richland, WA | Born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

Carlos Paz Solorzano

Carlos Paz Solórzano was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on March 25, 1967. He passed away on October 22, 2014. His Heavenly Father knocked and Carlos opened the door and was welcomed home. His short 22 day journey battling cancer was over.

Carlos left behind the love of his life and best friend, Allison (Williams) Solórzano. He so wanted to stay to help raise their children: Samantha, Brandon, Kyle and Braden. He loved his children and took pride in being to all their activities from band, orchestra, baseball and many other activities.

Carlos loved photography. He took photographs of sunsets, flowers, and nature, but his favorite subjects were his children and family. He has a huge electronic file of pictures he took at ball games, family events, scouting events and family vacations. Carlos followed his children's events from grade school through high school with photography. They all love music and performed in band and orchestra concerts, and also participated in sports. You could always plan on Carlos being to all of their sporting events. He went to Braden's baseball games always standing at the fence near first or third base. He loved to capture the action while taking pictures and videos of his son and his teammates. He was dedicated in his support even traveling back and forth daily when he was doing his 2014 spring finals at Spokane Community College. Carlos was totally dedicated to his wife and family. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mauro and two infant siblings. Carlos is survived by his Solórzano family that he loved… his mother, Rita; siblings: Carmen, Conchi, Lydia, Celina, Rosario, Issa, Rey, Christian and their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also left behind his other family, the Williams Clan including his father and mother in law: Richard and Linda; Allison's brothers and sisters: Michelle, Scott, Brian, Julianne, Steven, Nicholas, their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. When Carlos married into our family he became another son, another brother & friend. He was loyal and you knew you could count on Carlos.

Carlos was born and raised in Honduras until he was fourteen. The family came to America and settled in Long Beach, California. He excelled in sports with soccer being his favorite. His family is dedicated to each other, fun loving, happy and united as one. They are loyal soccer fans and enjoyed watching major playoffs when aired on TV. He was blessed to be born into such an amazing family.

Carlos was always so agile and strong. When he was in junior and senior high, Carlos excelled in soccer but switched to wrestling his senior year and won many medals in that sport. He graduated in 1985 from Millikan High School, Long Beach, CA. His lifelong high school friends are Jair, Deivy and Hector. Although miles separate them they are and will always be friends.

Carlos is a member of the LDS church and served faithfully in scouting and other numerous callings. He and Allison taught their family about Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation. They are left with the comforting knowledge that they will be joined as an eternal family.

Carlos helped coach family friendly soccer teams. He loved to wear his soccer shirts with the Family Friendly Soccer (FFS) emblem, but in his heart it took on another meaning "Forever Family Solórzano's". Always the leader in his family…Carlos went first and is now about his Heavenly Fathers business and will prepare to meet us all again.

During his time on earth, he was always ready to help anyone. Thank you Carlos for the many hours of service and love you gave to your Solórzano and Williams families and for your infectious smile. Also for the memories of family vacations on the Oregon coast. Playing games with Carlos was the best. A game of spoons was a favorite get together game and it was wild & competitive. Several rounds of the game ended with hand wounds or bruises. Monopoly, Phase 10, and other games would round out our evenings. Our last William's Oregon coast trip, thirty-two of us stayed in one house.

Carlos didn't need credentials as an identifier for it was family first and everything was always in that order. He is known by many for his years in the fast food industry, and then by the families Carlos and Allison served as childcare providers. September 30th ended their last day as childcare providers due to Carlos's diagnosis of stage four terminal cancers of the lung, brain, and bone. The cancer in his body moved unbelievably fast. It was the shortest but longest days as we all wanted each day to never end.

Thank you to the numerous people who showed their support through their prayers and for the generous financial support from family and friends. Thank you also for service given and the many acts of compassion including meals, lawn mowing, and yard maintenance in support of the family.

From Allison: Until we meet again my dear sweet Carlos…you will be forever resting in our hearts and memories. You truly left your footprint and may we follow your great example of compassion, love and guidance. I will miss you in my daily life on earth, but I know we will be together for eternity. So…to my eternal sweet heart…thank you for our twenty years and I will 'Love You' forever and always.

From his Children: You were the best Dad. We always knew where we stood with you (right in the middle of your heart). We will love you forever and always. We knew your love for our Mother and that brought our family together in unity. You took her to the temple where we were sealed as a family forever…We Love you always the Forever Family Solórzano's initials from us to you Allison, Samantha, Brandon, Kyle & Brandon (FFS) (ASBKB)

  • We are grandparents of two children, Kaleb and Kaitlyn, who are fortunate enough to have spent their preschool years with Carlos and Allison. We are so appreciative of the special care they both received from these two loving and caring people. Carlos always had a smile on his face and you could tell he really enjoyed his job. Our grandchildren are better for having known and loved him.

Allison, you and your children have been in our thoughts and prayers these last few weeks and we are so sorry for your loss.

  • Carlos my friend I was shocked and saddened to hear of your passing, I wasn’t aware that you had cancer and I hadn’t heard from you for some time on facebook. I will always remember the days of us working at Wendy’s, the years we spent playing fantasy football and of course the late nights after work when you, Larry and I would get together and play John Madden football until 3 or 4 in the morning and then go to work the next day. We were crazy, but we had fun. My heart goes out to Allison and your family, you were truly a devoted husband and family man. There isn’t much I can say about you that everyone doesn’t already know. You were just an incredible man and a wonderful, decent, caring human being and I am proud to say that you were my friend. Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.

  • Mr. Solorzano has left a great legacy – his children.

Those of us that know Braden see a responsible and kind young man whose strength is now shining through.

“Thank you, Sir, for being the best kind of father.”

As Braden’s teacher, it’s an honor to have even this small connection to this wonderful family.
