Daniel J. Zachary
Daniel J. Zachary 82, artist, passed away on Monday, June 1st, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Zachary and children Vicki Alexander Schlager, Daniel Zachary and Suzanne Doman. He has ten grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
Dan was born in Chicago, IL to parents Michael and Clara Zachary. He was one of ten children. His sister Elizabeth Hansen and Katherine Grefsheim and brother Ralph Zachary are still living. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean war.
He was married in 1956 to Judy Zachary for fifty eight years.
They moved to Richland in 1956 and lived a full and vibrant life in a place they both loved. He worked for The Department of Energy as a safety engineer.
Dan loved the outdoors and was very active. He spent his time hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and working puzzles. He was an avid gardener and often supplied friends and neighbors with fresh produce.
Dan was well known as a very talented artist and shared his talents for all to enjoy. He was an accomplished poet and illustrator. He loved music and dancing with his wife.
Dan was a life member of the VFW post 7952. He was also member of the Moose lodge, American Legion and NARF. He was active in community service and shared his many talents.
Please join us in celebrating his life at the LDS Mormon church at 1720 Thayer Dr., Richland, WA at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014. There will be a ceremonial gun salute at 6:00 p.m at the Richland VFW. The band, Stone Country will be playing from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. for you to enjoy.
He was a wonderful man will be missed greatly. Jerrys place.

Judy and family. Oh so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. I will miss his tone he always had. I haven’t been at the store since March, so didn’t get to see him again. My prayers and thoughts will be with you.

Dear Judy, Sorry it has taken me so long to let you know respond to the lose of your dear husband. Thank goodness for the gospel which provides us with the knowledge of knowing of we will see each other again and eternal marriage.
