Katryna “Katy” Marie Wentz
10/27/1971 — 04/30/2014
From Richland, WA, US | Born in Sunnyside, WA
Katryna “Katy” Marie Wentz
She had an infectious giggle. She loved to be surrounded by friends. And she left us all too soon. Daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, Katryna "Katy" Marie Wentz passed away on April 30, 2014 at her Richland home.
Katy was born October 27, 1971 in Sunnyside, WA. She attended Prosser High School, the International Air and Hospitality Academy and Columbia Basin College. She lived in the Tri-City area for over 20 years.
Katy had a kind and generous heart and made friends easily. She could brighten a person's day with her silly nature and beautiful smile. She happily shared what little she had with others. Friends knew they could always stay on Katy's couch if they found themselves in a difficult situation.
She adored animals and cherished her "furry babies". She had an amazing green thumb, coaxing the most stubborn plants to thrive. And she packed a lot of living into her short lifetime.
Katy's legacy is the three wonderful children she brought into the world, Brittany, Karleigh and Ricky. She beamed as she told others of her children's accomplishments. She encouraged them to succeed where she had struggled. She cherished spending time with her two granddaughters who called her "Kiki".
Katy is survived by her parents, Terry and Judy Wentz; children Brittany Mike Johnson, Karleigh Bybee and Ricky Riddell; sisters Kristyna Scott Graff Wentz-Graff and Terra Griffin; grandparents Hank Jeannette Ebbelaar; grandchildren Makiah Bybee and Scarlett Johnson; niece Brooke Griffin; and nephews Coby Wentz, Owen Graff and Vin Graff. She is also missed by countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Katy's life will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 1:30-4:00 p.m. at her parent's home in Prosser. Bright colors are requested. In lieu of flowers please consider donating towards her children's educational funds. Contact Einan's at Sunset for the celebration location and contribution information.
I am so sorry for your loss. May the love you all shared carry you through the difficult times.
I’m so sad to not be able to see you again. We had just connected on FB. I was looking forward to giving you a hug again. I have so many memories of you at the Rattlesnake; I thought of you as a daughter and loved you very much. I still laugh at those lady bug sneakers you used to wear to work! We did have some great times! God Bless you Bug! Lets connect again in heaven!!!
My condolences to all the family and friends of Katy. I have not met her ever but have some of her family and her sister here in Milwaukee.
My mom and Hank Ebbelaar are cousins so that makes me a bit family too.
I pass on the condolences of my family in the Netherlands as well.
Wishing you all a lot of strength in dealing with the sudden passing of Katy.
Kind regards,
Esther

Judy and Terry; We are so sorry to hear about your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers during your difficult time.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your dear daughter Katy. She was close in age to my children and they also attended Prosser schools. A loss that will be so very hard to process and is heart wrenching. My son Tony as well as I share the same October 27th birthday date with Kate. Bless you and your family.
We were so sorry to hear the terrible new about loosing your daughter, Katy. The good Lord will be watching over her. Have faith in him.
Katy, Life got in the way of spending time together like it has with so many. When I think of you, I always felt you weren’t far away and I would hear from you or how you were doing from Aunt C of course. I never felt you were far away. That was foolish of me. We have run out of time, you were taken too soon. You are already so missed. I can only pray that you know how very loved you are now and always will be. No one and nothing will ever fill the hole that your leaving has left in our family. I love you Bug. Rhea
