Shannon Kristine Emerson
Shannon Kristine Rhoten Emerson passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2013. Shannon was born September 29, 1972 to her parents Kent and Connie Rhoten. Shannon was the first of six children, and brought joy and happiness to her parents' lives.
Shannon lived her whole life in the Tri-Cities. She was married to Allen Emerson in 1996. Her greatest joy came with the births of her two children, John and Amber. Shannon loves John and Amber. Those who know Shannon know that.
Throughout her life, Shannon showed a special affinity for the underdog. She had a soft heart for children and animals, especially ones that were mistreated.
Shannon loved going to the movies. She would go any chance she got, and when Aunt Kathy was in town, they were guaranteed to wind up at the theater. In her youth, Shannon enjoyed sports and excelled in volleyball and softball.
Life brings many difficulties, and Shannon had her share of them. She endured well her ailments, and through them was most intent on finding ways to help and bring joy to others. On many occasions, Shannon could be found giving the last of what little she had to a friend or family member.
Shannon was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. Learning of Christ and following Him was of growing importance to her and she loved seeing her children do the same.
Shannon was a prolific poet, and found peace and happiness in writing poetry. Her contribution of this talent has touched, and will continue to touch, many hearts. Shannon will be greatly missed by those whose lives she influenced for good.
