Margo Dale Bloom

EINAN'S FUNERAL HOME

Margo Dale Bloom Nana passed on surrounded by family at home the afternoon of November 19, 2012. Born Friday, June 13th 1941 in Seattle, Washington, she grew up excelling in piano and academics. Margo graduated high school Salutatorian in 1959, later attending WSU with a major in Home Economics and Education. While at WSU she took a dance class where she met the love of her life and future husband Jerry. They were married November 11, 1961. In 1962 Margo gave birth to her first daughter and became a full-time homemaker committing herself to becoming a wonderful wife and mother. As her children grew, Margo began her working career at the school district, later moved into fabric retail and ultimately became a bookkeeper and office manager for many years.

Those who knew Margo well understood her intelligence and independence. She enjoyed many adventures from Europe and Mexico with her husband to sewing and quilting trips with close friends. She was a long time member of the Tri-City Quilt Club and a big fan of the Tri-City Americans. Margo deeply loved animals. Always there at the events and activities of her grandchildren, she would take special pride in the individual qualities and abilities of each one. Margo's mother Betty instilled an early love of sewing and, throughout her life, Nana continued to sew and create works of art for her children and grandchildren. Nana's work culminated in the quilts of love she would wrap around each of us and in the building of her own workshop affectionately referred to as "Fat Cat Alley". She touched the lives of many with her sweet and giving ways. Margo had a sense of humor that kept us all grounded while offering friendship, kindness and acceptance to those she met.

She is preceded in death by her father Fredrick C. Yeo and mother Bettina W. Yeo.

Margo is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jerry Bloom, daughters Michelle Bloom and Monica Fine, son-in-law Edward Fine, and her grandchildren Emily Corinne, Samantha Jo and Gracelyn Mae.

An Inurnment Service will be held on December 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, followed by a reception at Memories at Sunset Event Center.

  • I first met Margo when our daughters played volleyball together at Hanford High. We became reacquainted years later through quilting and we were roommates on a trip to Sew Expo several years ago. I never knew her to be anything other than a very kind and gracious lady. My most sincere condolences to her family.
