Troy Leonard Juntunen
Troy Leonard Juntunen, 45, died August 3, 2012 in Richland, WA. He was born January 28, 1967 in Corvallis, OR and lived in the Tri-Cities for 20 years. He worked as an IT Engineer with Battelle Memorial Institute Pacific Northwest National Laboratories
Survivors include Sarah Juntunen; his sons, Eli and Drew; his parents, Jim and Judy Juntunen; his sisters, Bryn Worsch and Kylee Juntunen, and his brothers, Trevor Juntunen and Jason Ellinwood. Troy was a father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, avid Oregon State Beaver fan, and a Christian Believer, not necessarily in that order. He was optimistic, adventurous, passionate, tolerant, understanding, reliable, trustworthy, kind, compassionate, diligent, resilient, and fun.
Troy's bragging rights were many; and his most important was that he was an actively engaged father of two sons. He participated in their church and school activities, coached and supported their sports' teams, and was there for them in all aspects of their lives.
He loved the challenge of all things in life and especially in physical fitness. He was an avid runner and completed the Tri-Cities Marathon. He loved playing in the mud, and he participated in the Mud Run and the Dirty Dash. At the time of his death he was training for the Tough Mudder.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland, where memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11th. The church is located at 1107 Wright Ave. Reception follows.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Troy's memory can be made directly to the First Baptist Church of Richland, 1107 Wright Ave., Richland, WA, 99354 or Liberty Christian School, 2200 Williams Blvd., Richland, WA 99354.
Very sorry to learn of Troy’s passing, it seems very untimely. He was a great friend of mine in Corvallis, impressively athletic and he always had a humourous outlook. Sitting in the back row in band, more than once we had to button it up when Mr. Brooks glared at us for being boisterous. Happy to learn he has two sons and a loving family.
You are in my prayers.
My heart goes out to you Juntunen family. Friendly, optimism, and kindness immediately spring to mind when I think of Troy.
Troy will be incredibly missed by so many people. His love will live on inside Eli and Drew. His 2 boys were his entire life. Troys smile and laugh will forever be ingrained in our memories. My heavy hearted condolences to all those whose life was blessed by the Joy of Troy.
I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of Troy’s death. I wanted to tell his sons that, even as a teenager, their dad was a very kind person and I appreciate his friendship during our high school years. I enjoyed playing in the high school band with him and have always remembered him fondly. My condolences to all of you on your loss.

Troy will be missed by his colleagues and friends here at PNNL. It’s a difficult time for the family at this time, my heart and prayers go out to all of you. God Bless!
Troy was a great guy. I worked with him only twice, but he was a tremendous help. My condolences and thoughts are with his family.
My Prayers are with you, Troy will be missed by all of PNNL Staff.
I am so sorry for your loss. Troy was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met…he always had a smile on his face. He took me to prom our junior year in high school and was a perfect gentleman. When I think of Troy, I think of his smile. Mrs. Juntenun, Bryn and Jason, and all of Troy’s family, my heart goes out to you.
Sincerely,
Peggy O’Neill
Troy impressed me since the first day I met him. We will all miss him greatly.
Dear Judy, You and your family have my deepest sympathy. My thoughts will be with you tomorrow and in the days to come. Cherish your memories.
So young! So sorry to all his family!
A colleague of June’s,
Anne Tait
I first met Troy in 1994 and I have never seen a time when Troy was unable to laugh and smile. He had a very infections smile and disposition. Troy rarely asked for help from others, yet was always willing to do what he could to help others in time of need. I remember times when he would be working on a computer and his infant sons would want to climb up and help him. He would take time to be with them. I as all others will miss Troy greatly!
We have such fond memories of little Troy growing up in Colorado Springs. He was so cute, active, and smart. I hated being outwitted by a child. He was adorable bouncing from one couch to the chair and playing with the spotted dog. He has grown up to a man of many good talents and attributes. He will be sorely missed! But he will always be loved!
Jim & Judy my sympathy goes to your family on the loss of your son Troy. Praying for you concerning the unexpected loss of a family member. God will give you comfort.
I am sorry to have never had the pleasure of knowing Troy. Knowing his mother and reading his obit, clearly he was a wonderful soul and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. My heart goes out to all those who loved him and whose hearts must be aching right now. My prayers are that the pain will ease into wonderful memories. Please know that so many arms are around all of you. Love, Peggy
Just hear about the passing of Troy. My Condolences to the family from Jeannie and I.

Dear Judy, Sincere sympathy at your loss. It was only at this most recent AGS conference in NJ that we talked much about your family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
We are sadened by your loss.
You and your family will be in our prayers.
Troy touched many lives here at PNNL. He helped me many times with technical issues, for which I am still grateful. I was fortunate to know him.
My condolences to the Juntunen Family. I only knew Troy from being around him at Camp Wooten this past Spring, as he was a counselor for his son’s cabin. He helped to make the camp experience that much better for both the students and the staff. He was truly there for the kids and I was looking forward to seeing him at future camps.
My condolences to the Juntunen family and all that were close to Troy. I really enjoyed my time with him in the band at Corvallis High School. He was a great trombone and tuba player, an adventuresome and fun classmate, and an all-around good guy. He “crashed” our 25th H.S. reunion last summer, and visiting with him was one of the highlights for me.
Please accept my deepest sympathies on Troy’s death. My heart goes out to all of his family members at this terribly sad time. Please know that he will be remembered fondly by myself and so many others.
Please accept my deepest condolences. I worked with Troy for many years from the east coast and always enjoyed working with him. I will cetainly miss our interactions and will keep him and your family in my prayers.
Al Palladino jr.
My condolences.
