C. Renee Harris

C. Renee Harris unexpectedly passed away February 14, 2012, at the age of 55. Renee was born in Boise, ID to Hershel and Ina Smith. The youngest of four girls, most of her childhood was spent in Idaho with her sisters. She loved the outdoors and horses when she was young and spent most of her days riding bikes all over the place with her nephew. Later she married and had two children and became a "domestic goddess". When we were kids, there were days of skipping school to go fishing with mom, or dancing around the house to songs she loved, and road trips, singing in the car at the top of our lungs making them the best of times. She found a love for photography and managed a photography studio in the mall for many years, where she met so many people that touched her life. She always talked about "her babies" that she was able to watch grow up through taking their photographs. She loved the people she worked with so much that she wound up following a few, and became a customer service representative for a bank where she found a whole new family to love until she retired. Renee was a strong woman who wasn't afraid to give her opinion, advice and love. Her family meant everything to her and she was adored by her grandchildren. They knew they could always go to Grandma for a yes, even when Mom and Dad said no. She was always good for a great one liner, a shoulder to cry on, or when you just needed someone to believe in you. One of a kind and loved by so many, her light will be so greatly missed. Renee is survived by her children, Brandi Pevey Steven Laird and Joe Harris, grandchildren Kayla Pevey, Orion Laird, Dawn Doyle, and Austin Tompkins, sisters Joyce Skip Rapp, Norma Dale Krick, and Jan Van Houten, many nieces and nephews, Joe Harris, and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Memories at Sunset Event Center in Richland with a reception to follow.

  • Our family has shared many years of fun and laughter with Renee, Seen her through many heartaches, many times of happiness, and most of all no matter what we have considered her as our friend.Renee has no more schedules to keep. She will be up there with God sharing laughs with many, One being”Jerry” who really loved her. Jody, Douger both loved her also, they never judged her just loved her for who she really was a kind hearted person. I worked with Renee and she never met a stranger, she treated everyone equally no matter what your life endured. Best to Brandi, Joe in this time of need. “Thank You Renee for being a friend” Prayers To all her family.
