Keith Donald Brown
Keith Donald Brown was born in Creswell, Oregon on September 4, 1930 to Donald and Delma Brown. Keith lived a full life touching many family members and friends and passed away at the age of 79, on June 16, 2010, at Kadlec Medical Center as a result of a heart attack. Keith's journey took him to many different towns in Oregon and Washington, attending most of his high school years in Ellensburg and attended CWU in Ellensburg.
After schooling, Keith started his work career in Oak Ridge, Oregon working as a mason where he met the love of his life, Claree Huff. They were married in San Luis Obispo, California on January 12, 1952. Keith and Claree had a three day honeymoon and then he was shipped off to the Korean War, where he was a master sergeant in the Army. Keith served two years and then returned to settle in Oak Ridge, Oregon to re-start life together with Claree.
In 1958, Keith moved his family to Kennewick to start his own business as a brick mason where he worked for the next 40 years. Over these 40 years, Keith built many lasting memories for families and the community which included the original Kennewick Parkade, the first high rise in Kennewick, the original block scoreboard in Lampson pits and countless first homes and remodels, fireplaces and barbeques.
Keith retired in 1998 where he and Claree spent their retirement years travelling throughout the United States and various parts of the world. Keith enjoyed many activities which included being a buffalo hobbyist, horseshoe expert, fishing, hunting and camping enthusiast, and attending all the activities of his grandchildren's athletic and academic achievements. In between these events, Keith also watched as many John Wayne movies as possible and countless hours of any sports activities.
Keith is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claree, and their daughters Debra Brown Kerley and husband Michael, Nadine Hendrickson and husband Paul, and Tammy Smith and husband Jeff. Keith also had seven grandchildren; Justin, Joel, Jacob, Stefanie, Natalie, Stacey, and Emily and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours will take place Friday, June 18 from 4:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday, June 19 from 9:00am until service time at Einan's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 19 at 2:00pm at Einan's Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors.
We were saddened to read about Keith’s passing away. When we moved to the Tri-Cities in 1970 Keith and Claree were among the first neighbors we got acquainted with. We always appreciated Keith’s friendly manner and his sense of humor. He will be missed.
