Kim Long
Kim Long, 41, of Pasco, WA, passed away on October 22, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Vancouver, WA on April 12, 1968 to Dwight and Susan Johnson.
Kim is survived by her husband of 22 years Scott and their daughters Samantha 14 and Madison 11. She is also survived by her father, Dwight and Paula Johnson; brothers, Scott and Derrick Johnson; sister, Heidi and Jim Shattuck and family; her in-laws Rick and Sharon Long, Jennifer, Josh Long, Heather and Grant Smith and family and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and more great close friends and family than we can list.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother Susan Johnson in 1995.
Kim had a zest for life and fought a long and hard fight to the very end. Kim loved tending her home, flowers and yard. She really loved to shop and cut out coupons looking for that special buy. She did all this along with working her job at Snyder Chiropractic.
A special thanks to Holly, John, LaDonna, Valerie, and Florence, the group from County Christian Center and HOSPICE for their help during Kim's illness.
Her early passing will leave a hole in all of our hearts that will not be easily filled. We are comforted with the knowledge that Kim is with our heavenly father and will be waiting for us to join her some day.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 1:00pm at Country Christian Center, 5500 W. Sagemoor Rd., Pasco, WA.
I will never forget her wonderful smile and spirit. We only new her a short time…but it felt like we had known her forever… She will be very missed.
As Kathy said, I only knew her for a short period of time, but the positive impact she made will be remembered forever. ~Sarah~
Kim was an amazing person. I admired her strength and her love for the LORD. Only knowing her for a short time, she truely blessed my life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as you grieve the loss of a special mother, wife, and friend. There are no words to ease the hurt, but take comfort in the fact that she is home with our heavenly father. We love you all!
Scott, Samantha, Madison we are praying for God to comfort you. I only knew Kim for a couple years but the way she embraced what ever came into her life was inspiring. Watching what Jesus was doing in her/your lives strenghtened my relationship with Him. I thank God for allowing me to know her. May God Bless you and Comfort you.
To all of Kim’s family,
I am so saddened to know Kim’s earthly life has passed, leaving so many who wanted her to stay. Even knowing she now has gone to her Heavenly home is hard on those left behind.
I’ll always remember those beautiful eyes of hers & the ready smile she offered. I’ve been looking at my pictures of her & Scotty when they were so very small & remembering those days.
Blessings & peace to all of you.
With my love,
Sally Mills

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was blessed to work in the same field as Kim and it was always a joy to be able to share in the many lunches us girls had together. She will be in our hearts forever.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Kim and I had alot of good times growing up at Edwin Markham, we spent many nights at eachother houses..they are times I will always remember!
Kim started out as my co-worker, turned into a dear friend, scrapbook buddy, Avon Partner, but most of all a true blessing in my life. I’m glad I had the opportunity to express this to her before it was too late. I will miss our talks about the Lord and our Faith. I will continue to pray for peace and healing for the Long & Johnson Families.

Kim was a beautiful ray of sunshine whenever she was around. She is my cousin and we lived far apart so I did not get to see her and her family often enough but I have alot of childhood memories to cherrish. We sadly watched the same illness take her mother, our grandmother, our aunt, and now may Kim rest in peace. My families prayers go out to her husband and daughters, her Dad and brothers, and many other family and friends.
Our hearts ache for you and your family. Kim was absolutely one of the sweetest young ladies on this earth. It felt good to be around her. Her loving spirit touched so many of us and her presence will be missed. Take comfort in the good memories she left you with and look forward to that day when you will meet again.
Scott,
I am so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful woman and I have fond memories of her kindness to me in our growing up years. We will be praying that you and your girls sense God’s nearness and comfort.

To Kim’s family: We prayed for Kim’s healing since we heard of her fighting cancer, and not at work at Snyder’s Chiropractic! We missed seeing her there, and at FACC. She was absolutely beautiful, in appearance and character, and she always had cheery words to encourage others. We are so grateful that we will see her in Heaven, but we are so sorry she had this battle, and that you are without her presence. We thank God for her life, courage and example. You folks will be in our prayers too; we will be asking God to comfort and sustain you.
My condolences to the family. Kim’s mother, Susan, was my favorite aunt and I have fond memories of spending time at Susan and Dwights eating gourmet tuna fish sandwiches tuna with sweet relish and the bread cut diagonally instead of straight across and the best tasting cookies on earth. Kim and her brother Scott were the most entertaining kids in the city, simply adorable and always coming up with creative games to play with my sister and I in their HUGE we all were considerably smaller then living room in Pasco. Kim always dressed to the nines in elementary school with her color coordinated tights and hair accessories. I’m sure Aunt Susan had something to do with that. Kim grew to become a beautiful person inside and out and I will think of her often, wearing those color coordinated tights under her jumpers walking home up the long driveway in Pasco. Dressed to the nines.
Our deepest sympathy and many prayers from Ohio to you and yours. Rick is my cousin — we have not seen each other in many years. But I wanted to send a brief note of condolence. Many years and many miles may separate family but hearts can still be touched. So sorry for your loss.
I remember the Longs from my years at Tri-City Christian Center as a teen. I was saddened to hear of your family’s loss. My thoughts and prayers to each of you. May you be filled with peace that only God can give, and strength as you share her memory with each other.
With much fondness,
Nikki Bailey Pope
Kim was one of my best friends growing up at Edwin Markham. I’ll always remember our adventures on the playground! She was a loving and caring friend–one I will always remember. At a lunch we had several years ago, we laughed over old memories and shared new ones I had my baby daughter, Natalie, with me. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Kim will always hold a special “best friends” place in my heart.
I was so saddened to hear about Kim. Immediately in my mind’s eye I saw her waiting for the bus to take us to Edwin Markham. I have many fond memories of her all through elementary school and into junior and senior high. She always had a smile and kind words for anyone. Know that she was a wonderful positive light to all those who knew her.
I was priviledged to meet Kim and her dad at Scottsdale Christian Church. Even though Kim was just visiting she joined our Women’s Bible Study that I teach. Kim had a thirst for God’s word and plan for her life and never, ever gave up hope that God would heal her. I believe God has given Kim her “ultimate healing and Jesus himself is with her. I believe this because Kim believed it and Jesus promises that whoever believes on Him will be saved. The light in Kim’s eyes never went out and everyone who met her loved her for her faith and trust in God. I feel honored to have met Kim and knowing her humbled my faith. Know that her family is being lifted up in prayer and that we will never forget Kim’s quick smile and beautiful spirit. I look forward to rejoicing with her someday when we meet in heaven. Blessings to all of us who are left behind and grieve this lovely child of God.
I was so sorry to hear about Kim’s passing. I loved her, she was so outgoing. One of the few people I met who was as beautiful on the outside as she was inside. She will be missed. At least you have comfort in knowing she is with Jesus and not suffering. Love to your whole family, the Bixbys
