Evelyn Emma Isaacson
Evelyn E. Isaacson, 79, of Richland WA died September 3, 2009, just hours shy of four months after the death of her husband, Ray, and on the eve of their 59th wedding anniversary. Evelyn was born December 12, 1929, in Rochester WA to Emma and Fredrich Fagerness. At age two Evelyns father died; she and her mother became a devoted team.
She and Ray were married on September 4, 1950 and raised four children. Evelyn was a loving mother and the quiet negotiator in their home. Her children each knew her as their confidant and cheerleader.
Evelyn worked at Richland Public Library from 1970 until the early 80s and then retired to join Ray in Olympia during his time as a Washington State Legislator. She moved with selfless grace. At Rays passing, the Tri-City Herald wrote eloquently of Evelyn and her quiet ways.
Evelyn is survived by her children Erick Isaacson Sharon, Vince Isaacson, Wanda Couchman Lester and Carl fiancé Teresa Allen, 7 grandchildren Bethany Isaacson Cleve Corner, Brandon Couchman Jennifer, Kate Giardinelli Mike, Christopher Couchman, Andrew Isaacson Ketra, Christine Isaacson, Aidan Isaacson, 2 great-grandchildren Benjamin Giardinelli and Olivia Couchman and Rays sister Shirley Haskins Huffman.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Erick Isaacson, her parents and daughter-in -law, Jill Isaacson.
The family would like to express their gratefulness to Drs. Dale Grantham, John Droesch and Jeremy Blanchard and all those who cared for Evelyn during her short stay at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good News Media of Richland Lutheran Church, 901 Van Giesen Blvd., Richland, 99354 or the Benton Franklin Humane Society 8620 W. Gage Blvd., Kennewick, WA 99336 or the charity of your choice in memory of Evelyn.
Interment will be Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 2 pm at Sunset Memorial Garden. A memorial service will follow at Richland Lutheran Church at 3 pm. Visitation will be held at Einans Funeral Home, Wednesday September 9, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Evelyn was such a sweet and wonderful person and I am saddened by her passing. However, she and Ray were, to me, the wind beneath each others wings and I am happy that they can be together again. Evelyn was a true lady and I am honored and better for having known her and shared a small part of my life with her and Ray. My thoughts go out to the family and please know that both your parents were truly inspirational to the people in this community. Evelyn will be missed.

We are so sorry to hear that Your Mother Eveyn has passed a way.
We where happy to meet at her visit to Finland and on our visit to Rochester. She had roots in Finland and was cousin of my mother who also passed a way last year.
