Philip H. Davis
On January 30, 2008, with his loving family at his bedside, Philip H. Davis, 58, went peacefully to the arms of our Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 9, 1949 to Delbert and Esther Davis in Richland, WA, Phil was a beautiful curly toe-headed bouncing baby boy. He spent his adolescent years living and attending school in Richland and later Columbia Basin College.
Phil was a man of many talents and a carpenter by trade. He had the true hands of a hard working man and showed this ability with the many projects that he accomplished. He renovated many homes and businesses throughout the Tri-City area and did work as a carpenter at the Hanford site, including the Vitrification Plant. He enjoyed his wood working hobbies and made numerous squirrel houses and flower planters that he shared with his family.
His love for life included photography, taking photos of the outdoors, family and friends, and more recently took many beautiful photos while in South America. He loved music and shared it with those who knew him through the many CDs that he made with music dating as far back as the 1940’s to present. He was an avid pool player and played in several local pool leagues, often winning championships. The best joy in his life was riding his motorcycle with good friends and letting his free spirit go. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Phil is deeply loved and will be forever in our hearts. His keen sense of humor and the joy and laughter he brought to others will be remembered always. We love you dearly.
Phil is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Esther Davis; brother Scott Davis; and nephew Steve Davis.
He is survived by his loving daughter Jill and husband Steve Grnya of Richland; sisters Connie Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, Gerry and husband Leo Stuk, brother Doug Davis, and two beautiful grandchildren Ryan and Megan Grnya, all of Richland, numerous nieces and nephews and longtime friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy.
We would like to thank the staff at Hospice at the Chaplaincy for their loving care, compassion and support during our difficult time. We appreciate all of you very much.
Viewing will be on Monday, February 4th, 2008, at Einan’s Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM>
Services will be set at a later date for family and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. We love you!
