Leemhuis, Erlys K. entered into rest on December 14, 2007. Erlys was the second oldest of nine children born to Pearl Mize and Edwin Cole in Trident, MT on April 20, 1917. She attended North Central High School. Erlys is survived by her son, David L. Ingram and his wife Verla, Spokane, WA. three daughters, Marla J. Seguin and husband Stan, Richland, WA., Linda A. Palmer and husband Mark, Richland, WA., and Jocelyn Shook and husband Steve of Kennewick, WA., 9 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Bruce and Dale Cole, Spokane, WA; two sisters, Wanda Larson of Mead, WA. and Bonnie Rosberg of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her son, Robbin Ingram and daughter, Janice K. Lombard and grandson Rodney Lombard, her parents and three brothers.
Erlys loved to sew, making blankets, clothes and many “unique” costumes for her family and friends. During her stay in assisted living, she was voted “Queen of Hearts for Valentines Day” and was seldom seen without a cookie and glass of milk at her side. A couple of trips to Reno and Vegas leave us memories of laughter and fun that won’t be forgotten what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!. She loved working in the garden and watching and watering her beautiful flowers. She was a great cook, loved to play pinochle and spend lots of time with her grandkids. “Grandma GiGi” holds a very special place in hearts of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The love she expressed to them and her humor will never be forgotten. Memorial services for Erlys will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 11:00am at the Sunset Chapel a Fairmount Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 9:00 – 10:45am at Sunset Chapel. Refreshments will be served following the service. Mom will take her final resting place beside her son Robbin. Mother, we love you so much and because of what you have given us in our time together will last in our hearts forever and ever.
To the family of Ms. Erlys K. Leemhuis; I am deeply sorry for your loss. I only knew Erlys for a short period of time while I worked at Chenoweth House in Kennewick, but I could always look forward to her brightening my day. There wasn’t a day that went by that I wouldn’t have the pleasure of spending time with her. She was truly a wonderful, wonderful woman who will be deeply missed.
We loved your mom, she always made us laugh with her stories!
We know she will be missed alot.
Our hearts are with you all.
