From Pasco, WA, US | Born in Kokubu, Osaka, Japan
Hisayo Y. Parker
Hisayo Y. Parker, 70, of Pasco, passed away September 20, 2007 in Richland, Washington. She was born and grew up in Kokubu, Osaka, Japan. She worked for Ebie Mashushita Denki Electric Co. until she met and married the love of her live, Robert Parker.
A devoted housewife and mother, she raised four daughters: Julie Quaintance, Donna McCue, Kathleen Miles and Naomi Ofrancia. She lived and traveled with her husband during his Air Force career until settling down in Richland and then Pasco, WA. Her devotion to her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandson was unmatched. She was also a devoted daughter, caring for her mother who came to the U.S. to live with her for more than 33 years.
She enjoyed dancing and listening to her husbands music. She found her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and accepted Him into her heart in Ephrata, WA. She enjoyed her church family. Sy, as she was known to all her friends and family, had a green thumb and could grow flowers and Japanese vegetables when others couldnt.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Parker of Pasco; her sister Sakiyo Manchester of Linn Creek, MO; her four daughters; six grandchildren; one great-grandson. Preceding her in death are her parents and older brother.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Richland Baptist Church.
Contributions in Sys memory may be made to the charity of ones choice.
TO BOB AND FAMILY: I AM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I KNOW SHE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL. RON THOUGHT SHE WAS BEYOND WORDS, SHE WAS AN ANGEL.
I REMEMBER ON ONE OF THE VISITS IN MAINE, WE STOPPED ON THE ROAD TO BUY VEGETABLES.
SY WENT AROUND TRYING TO FEEL FOR THE BEST TOMATOES, SHE TRIED QUITE A BIT. THE VENDER WAS VERY UPSET WITH HER TOUCHING THEM ALL AND TOLD US TO LEAVE. WE LAUGHED ALL THE WAY BACK TO CAMP. SHE ONLY WANTED THE BEST FOR HER FAMILY
I came to know Sy through her husband. We met online in a game site and evolved into wonderful friends. I wanted so badly to meet this wonderful person on the other end of the phone, but due to health reasons and geography it never happened. This does not mean I do not carry her in my heart and care deeply for her. She may have left us physically but Sy left behind many people who love her and a lasting impression of a true mother, grandmother, wife and friend.Sy was known to many as an angel and now she has gone home to fly amongst them. You will be missed terribly my friend.
To Bob and family,
Its hard to find words when a family suffers such a great loss. May the lord give you strength and you find comfort in your family.
With deepest sympathy from all of us in Maine,
Mary Terril, niece

Sy was a wonderful lady, as a child I remember spending the day with Sy and her mother. She made this amazing fried rice that had eggs in it, I can still taste it. Sy was always so sweet and made me feel welcome in her home teaching me a little Japanese and showing me all the pretty dolls. It was so fun when she showed me around her garden and let me help pick vegetables. I loved that cucumber relish! I feel lucky to have spent time with her in that special way as a child, I will miss her happy spirit, what a fun lady.
Aunt Sy,
May you go to the lord with gladness and joy. Our regards with your lost uncle Bob and family. May she and Ronnie wait for us.
Love
Andy

Bob and family, Sandy and I have such fond memories of our times in Japan. Si Hisayo was not only so much fun to be around, but she made everyone feel like they were best friends, even from the first time they met her.
I don’t think I ever saw her without a smile on her face.
You both were so totally devoted to each other, and to your girls and grand/great-grandkids.
Sandy and I send you our thoughts and prayers.
