Patrick Ira Linn
12/23/1955 — 08/14/2007
From Richland, WA, US | Born in Richland, Washington
Patrick Ira Linn
Patrick Ira Linn passed away August 14, 2007 with his wife Cindy at his side after a courageous attempt at a stem cell transplant at the University of Washington hospital.
Patrick was born in Kadlec Hospital on December 23, 1955 to Ira and Barbara Linn. He spent his youth in Richland playing baseball and football and was a member of the first graduating class of Hanford High School in 1974.
Patrick entered the nuclear Navy program in 1976, and upon honorable discharge married Diane Lindahl and moved back to Richland. He gained a beautiful young pickle-loving daughter named Lacy and over the next few years, he and Diane added two sons, Daniel and Alex. Patrick was a devoted father, stepfather and grandfather and loving his family was his greatest vocation.
In 2006, after eight loving, happy years together, Patrick married Cindy Belew whom he affectionately referred to as PC Princess Cindy. He gained two step sons Shan and Kellen Belew.
Patrick worked at Hanford for 25 years in Radiation Protection at PFP, LEF, 222S Labs and most recently at FFTF as a Radiological Control Manager. He was a graduate of Washington State University.
He loved the game of baseball, was an avid Mariner fan and enjoyed trips to spring training in Arizona. He spent 12 years coaching in the American Little League, where he also was President for several years. He loved children and spent much time running skills clinics and raising monies for the Little League, High School and Summer Legion baseball programs.
Patrick was a comedian at heart. He was quick witted and enjoyed making others laugh. Along with being a great father, he was a loving companion and friend to his wife. He fought a tough three-year battle with Leukemia and did so with great courage, strength, and dignity. He was beloved by many and we will miss him greatly.
Patrick is survived by his wife Cindy; daughter Lacy Lindahl and granddaughter Natalie; sons Daniel Linn; Alex and Ariel Linn, granddaughter Addisyn and baby due in October; stepsons Shan and Kellen Belew; brothers Reuben and Young Hae Linn, Mike and Lila Linn; Kevin and Sue Linn; sister Sheila Zilar; mother-in-law Dee Dee Weinburg; sister-in-law DeDe and Steve Thorne; brother-in-law Steve and Shirley Weinburg; and nieces and nephews Steve and Liz Linn; Doug and Andrea Linn; Mark, Jennifer, and Timmy Zilar; Christina, Jonathan, Griffin and Maya Rose Linn; Kylee, Nicole, and Dana Thorne; and Casey Weinburg. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Barbara Linn and his father-in-law Thomas Weinburg.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 20, 2007 at 6:00 pm at Central Church CUP, 1124 Stevens Drive in Richland. A reception will follow at the church. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to the Greater Richland Little League.
I wanted Grandpa to get better and come out of the hospital. I love him and I miss him.
With My Sincere Sympathy. May you find comfort in knowing that your loved one touched the lives of so many others and gave them the gift of many happy memories. I will miss “the funniest man on earth.”
To Pats Favorite team
his children,
Please find comfort through the difficult times by relying on the good memories to warm your hearts and make you smile.
Your Dads love of baseball was contagious. He made lasting memories by sharing it with you. He was a generous man and one to be proud of.
His statistics are recorded by his smile, sense of humor, laughter and influences on your lives.
He taught you by example; setting a goal, devoting tireless hours working towards it, and finally building his FIELD OF DREAMS.
You are very fortunate to have had him as your father. He enriched your lives, was proud of your accomplishments and loved you very much.
YOU shared a VERY GOOD SEASON!
Love, Mom
My deepest sympathies go out to everybody. You have lost a husband, father, brother, grandafther and I lost a close friend. May we remember Patick Lra with a smile on our face just like the one he gave us for having the pleasure of being around him.
Dan and Family.
While we didn’t have the privilege of meeting your dad we know he had to have been a great man to produce such a great son. Losing a loved one is never easy. We hope your grief is as short as possible under these circumstances.
Sorry for your loss. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and Pat’s family. Just know we can’t be there during this difficult time and that we will be thinking of you.
My sincere condolences to Cindy and the kids. I like you will miss Pat, his jokes and smiles. He was a great friend for many years. I enjoyed coaching little league with him for over 10 years, we had so much fun as partners as the legends in fantasy football, and we spent so many days working side by side at PFP. He was a good friend and truely will be missed.
To Pats family my sincere condolences. Not only did I know Pat from Radiological Control at Hanford, but also from our years together doing Richland American Little League. Pat was a good man and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill Barnard

Ira was my older brother and my hero. I am so sorry I have not been able to be close to his family thru the years. Know that I love you all and wish I could be there with you. I know your grief as I lost my only son 3 years ago at the same age as Patrick. My Mark passed with a heart attack. Would so love to meet and get closer to all of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this difficult time. I have always admired Pats quick wit and humor, which has helped shape who I am today! I miss you Uncle!!!
I met Pat in college at Eastern Washington University and we enjoyed too much fun and probably not enough studying. After many years, we drifted apart, and I was grateful to have the chance to visit with him in July
thanks, Greg Rish.Although he doesn’t believe me, I have forgiven him for introducing him to my first husband. Notably, I will remember Pat for his quick wit and his “guffawing” laughter. Even though we never always agreed on things, my life is a bit richer because of his friendship.
I know how much you all loved Pat and will miss him. I am sorry that his days with you have been shortened. – I hope peace and comfort will be yours, and that memories of him will fill your heart and help you feel him near forever. – I will miss my friend.
Pat and I worked at PFP together in the 80’s his humor and hard work made working there so much better. My only deer hunting trip with Steve, Dave and Pat will never be forgotten…God Bless.
