Recently, Dub and Thelma were walking in front of our house, which they did often. For some reason they stopped and talked to us, and it was pleasant to meet Dub. He and my husband began talking about TX and Dub mentioned that his Dad was born in Silverton, Briscoe Co TX which was Bill’s hometown so they visited until dark. Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed his visit and Thelma also. We have know her for years. The Autry’s

My mother was Carrie Nelsen Cooper, her children are Peter Swanson, Erik Nelsen, Loris Nelsen Blair, Nels Nelsen, and Sally Nelsen-Bustetter. Their children Josh Blair, William Blair, Benji Blair, Nick Blair, Emma Tucker and Donald Tucker were active recipients of Dub’s grandfatherly wisdom, talents and affection. They enjoyed many vists to Baja California with their grandma Carrie and grandpa Dub.
My mother will be interred along with Dub at the service on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Ephrata Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
I am very sorry for your loss. I didn’t know that Dub was an accomplished writer. I’d like to know what type of material he wrote. I only knew Dub by occasionally dropping by Loris’ place and if they were there, he was always interesting to talk to and very friendly. I thought that Dub and Carrie were such a nice couple. They sure did a lot of traveling in their time together.
