Millie E. Porter

Millie was called home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2004. Millie was born in Larimore, North Dakota on December 4, 1917 to Ingvold and Minnie Olsen Rolland. She married Russell Felch in Grand Forks, North Dakota on March 14, 1936. Russell and Millie moved to Pasco, Washington in 1942. She was employed at Sears Roebuck in Pasco for fifteen years.

In November of 1955, Millie married Bernard Porter in San Jose, California. One of Millie’s biggest joys was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved spending time with her niece Darcy Touchette and her close friends Irma and Fred Rodriguez.

Millie enjoyed going to movies, attending the theatre performances at the Capital Theatre in Yakima, Washington and visiting with her friends at the Richland Senior Center. She loved to bake and was always the perfect hostess. Friends and family always left her house with homemade “goodies”.

Millie was a loving, thoughtful and kind person. She brought joy into the lives of all who knew her.

God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be. So He closed His arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me”. You didn’t deserve what you went through And so He gave you rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, as He only takes the best. And when I saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from pain, I would not wish you back to suffer that again.

Millie is survived by her sons, Russell Felch Flora of Seattle, Darrell Felch Marcia of Bellevue; daughters Shirley Owens of Kennewick, Sharon Wolf of Yakima and a sister Delores Telander of Grandview.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Porter and two brothers, Irvin and Kenny Rolland.

Mom, we love you and miss you. We will always hold you near and dear in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held for Millie at 2:00 pm on Wednesday November 24, 2004 at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland.

  • I was so sorry to hear about Milli passing away. She was just a great lady. I hauled her on my BFT bus for years, but hadn’t seen her for a long time. I have thought about her from time to time. She is a lady I will not forget. She had such class, and was always so sweet and caring.
