Carol Ramsdell, 61, of West Richland died Thursday morning December 20,2001 at home. She was
born September 30, 1940 in Tacoma, Washington. She attended the Washington State University and
graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology in 1962.
Carol lived in the Tri-Cities for 34 years. She played flute in the Mid Columbia Symphony for many
years. She worked for Westinghouse Hanford Company as a project analyst, until retirement in 1995.
Recently she was a Guardian Ad Litem for the Benton-Franklin County Juvenile Court. Most
importantly, however, Carol was a loving, caring wife, mother, and friend. As an avid tennis player and
fan, following retirement, she claimed that she only played tennis on days that ended in y. However ,
those who knew her know she played more frequently. She had a competitive spirit and a keen sense of
humor that will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
Carol was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Richland.
Carol is survived by her husband, Van; sons Jim and Mike; sister and brother-in-law Anne Marie and
Larry Jones and nieces Michelle and Christine; Aunt Edith Fredrickson and cousin June Hightower.
Memorial services will be held at Christ The King church 1126 Long Ave., in Richland, at 3:00pm on
Thursday December 27, 2001.

In college, Carol always had the highest standards and lived by those standards. She was a great role model. I know her family and friends will miss her greatly.
